Living Steel International Competition (Brussels)

The competition is a unique opportunity for architects to bring their vision for innovative and responsible housing design and construction to life. Along with prize money of €50,000 for each winning design, and €10,000 honorarium for other finalists, winning designs from the second competition will be built in Brazil, China and the United Kingdom. The competition is open to architectural firms of all sizes and location. 

Riea Book competition (Switzerland)

More info: A competition organized by Riea.ch, the Research Institute for Experimental Architecture, in order to select authors for both the Riea Book Series and the Riea Concept series. The Competition, which will be organized every two years, selects authors for both of the series, reference is given by the Riea books which are already out. 

Rome Prize 2007 (Italy)

The American Academy in Rome invites applications for the Rome Prize competition. One of the leading overseas centers for independent study and advanced research in the arts and the humanities, the Academy offers up to thirty fellowships for periods ranging from six months to two years.  Fellowships are awarded in the following related fields: Architecture; Design (including graphic, fashion, industrial, interior, lighting, set, and sound design, engineering, urban planning, and other related design fields); Historic Preservation and Conservation (including architectural design, public policy, and the conservation of works of art); Landscape Architecture.

Schindler "Access for All' Award Architecture Competition 2005/06

National Building Museum's Vincent Scully Prize

More info: The Vincent Scully Prize was established in 1999 to recognize exemplary practice, scholarship or criticism in architecture, historic preservation and urban design. Created by the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., the award first honored the distinguished Yale professor and namesake of the award, author and educator, Vincent Scully.

RIBA Sterling Prize

More info: The RIBA Stirling Prize is given for the RIBA Building of the Year. It is run in association with The Architects' Journal and is presented to the architects of the building which has been the most significant for the evolution of architecture in the past year. 
The winning architect receives a cash prize of £20,000. The prize is named after the great British architect Sir James Stirling (1926-1992).

Royal Gold Medal

More info: Given in recognition of a lifetime’s work, the Royal Gold Medal is approved personally by Her Majesty the Queen and is awarded annually to a person or group of people whose influence on architecture has had a truly international effect. The award is for a body of work, rather than for one building or for an architect who is currently fashionable.

Peepshow Architecture Competition, Calgary

Promoting visual art, design, and architecture through a creative street presence for visual art, the annual juried PEEPSHOW competition commissions the design and construction of one pavilion every year. These temporary Artcity pavilions, scattered throughout Calgary's downtown core, create a dialogue among designer, artist, and viewer, encouraging discourse into the fine art and the urban relationships that evolve around them.

Pritzer Architecture Prize

More info: The Pritzker Architecture Prize is awarded annually by the Hyatt Foundation to honor a living architect.  Created in 1979 by Jay A. Pritzker and run by the Pritzker family, it is considered the world's premier architecture prize.  The winner receives $100,000, but more important is the industry-wide fame and subsequent interest from building developers. The Pritzker is sometimes referred to as "the Nobel Prize of Architecture".

Ken Roberts Memorial Delineation Competition

More info: Sponsored by the Dallas chapter of the American Institute of Architects, this competition awards prizes to entries that exhibit outstanding abilities in architectural illustration, both by hand and by digital means. This annual competition, which is in its 32nd year,  is open to both students and professionals.

Steedman Fellowship International Design Competition

More info:  The Steedman Fellowship, granted since 1925, is awarded biannually on the basis of an International Design Competition. The Competition is supported by an endowment given to the Washington University School of Architecture in honor of James Harrison Steedman. The competition award is $30,000 and is open to all eligible graduates of professionally accredited degree programs in architecture worldwide.

Young Architects Forum Competition

More info: The Young Architects Forum is an annual competition and series of lectures and exhibitions organized by the Architectural League and its Young Architects Committee. The Forum was established to recognize specific works of high quality and to encourage the exchange of ideas among young people who might otherwise not have a forum. The theme for 2006 is "Instability". Projects of all types, either theoretical or real, and executed in any medium, are welcome. The jury will select work for presentation in public forums, an online installation, and an exhibition at the Architectural League this spring.
